This translucent deep rich honey-red stone was a favorite gem of the Romans and Etruscans who thought it warded off evil and would counteract poison. Also used by royalty for signet seals since wax does not easily stick to it.
This magical pendant is an ORIGINAL EXCLUSIVE DESIGN! No two pieces are ever identical. I handcraft each piece myself. I hand-selected this polished gem quality Red Carnelian cut cabachon . Then as I sat down to create the pendant, I let the stone "speak" to me as I lovingly crafted a wire frame to securely embrace the stone. I take straight 14KT Gold-filled wire and create each turn and twist of decorative work with my hands and small jewelry pliers. I chose a round carnelian bead to accent this piece.
This beautiful pendant measures approximately 2-1/4" x 1" wide at the widest part of the stone. The cabacon measure 30mm x 20mm.
