This magical dragonfly pendant has a bone bead with a hand carved dragonfly as the focal point of the design, it is toped with a large, hand-woven silver bail and hill tribe silver beads, a deep orange-red AAA quality carnelian bead dangles from the bottom of the pendant to complete the look. The dragonfly is hand carved so that no two are alike. This pendant was gently oxidized to bring out the details of the hand-woven bail and spiral bead accents at the bottom of the design. Each one is carefully hand polished to bring out its individual personality.
The pendant measures: 2-1/2"L x 11/16"W The large bail opening will accommodate chains and cords up to 3mm in diameter. Chain/cord not included.

Dragonfly Medicine
Dragonflies are very ancient with estimates of having been around for over 180 million years. They have a beautiful, jewel-like coloring. The bright colors take time to develop suggesting the idea that with maturity our own true colors come forth.
Although some have color pigments in their skin, for most the colors are caused almost the same way rainbows form. Structures in their shell scatter and refract the light, making them look iridescent green and blue. As they age, they may pass through several color changes.
