This is a fantastic Rainbow Obsidian pendant. Obsidian can contain small bubbles of air that are aligned along layers created as the molten rock was flowing just before being cooled. These bubbles can produce interesting effects such as the rainbow sheen seen in this pendant.

Obsidian comes from the Greek "Opsianos", meaning vision, because Obsidian was used to make mirrors. Obsidian has been used as far back as the Neolithic period, where it was used to fashion arrowheads and daggers.
