Brown Tourmaline is very rare in polished cabochon form. I only found one dealer in all of the Tucson Gem Shows this year who had a small number of cabs available.
This is a brand new one-of-a-kind design. To create the pendant, I sat for a long time listening to this very special stone. Slowly, in my mind’s eye, I began to see the design take shape. I began creating this one-of-a-kind setting continuing my "conversation" with the tourmaline as I worked. I use only the highest quality sterling silver (.925) straight wire. The entire setting is created with my hands and small jewelry pliers.
This pendant measures approximately 2-1/8" in length x 1-1/8" wide at the widest part. The stone measures 32 x 23mm and weighs 9 grams (45 cts). It is polished to a shiny smooth dome finish on top.
This pendant has a free-swinging bail that should accommodate a round chain up to 3mm in diameter.
