This new design reminds me of a Lily Pad. The lily pad has been cut from Argentium* Silver Sheet (.925), with my jeweler’s saw. I created a wonderful texture on the surface using a special tool I made myself. This texture adds depth and really catches the light. The pendant has been given a light patina to further emphasize the texture. I used a small blue stone from my old, old stash of cabochons. I believe the stone is stabilized turquoise but I’ve long since lost track of the supplier so I can’t guarantee it’s real turquoise. So we’ll just call it a turquoise colored stone. The stone is bezel set on the shimmering Lily Pad for a nice splash of color.
The bail is made from 18 gauge sterling silver coiled wire.
This necklace comes on a black vegan leather cord finished with sterling silver ends and a lobster clasp. Please specify your preferred length when you place your order and I will finish the cord to your specifications.
The pendant measures: 1-1/2" L x 1-1/8"W
*Argentium® Sterling Silver is a new blend of Sterling silver invented in 1996. By definition, sterling silver has 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% other materials. Typically, sterling is blended with copper, which makes a nice strong and attractive blend, but it tends to tarnish easily. Argentium has the same 92.5% silver, but has a little bit of a rare metal called Germanium blended with the copper. For chemical reasons, this makes Argentium sterling far more tarnish resistant than standard sterling silver. You’ll be amazed at how long it stays bright.
